Togo Africa

This is part of a letter I received from my first cousin who is the directors of all projects, over $100k in Africa for ABWE- Association of Baptists for World Missions. I thought you would be encouraged to see what is happening in the world and that the Gospel is being spread.

"It has been 2 weeks since we arrived in Mango, Togo. We spent the first week preparing for the ground breaking ceremony. It turned out to be something that I never anticipated. I expected 50 or 60 missionaries and nationals. Small mind. There were dozens of local village chiefs and officials, four Cabinet level ministers from Lome, 30 - 40 people flew in from the states, and about 4000 nationals showed up. The gospel was preached to over 4000 unbelievers at one time. What a day!

Currently I am working on acquiring materials and labor to start construction next week.
It appears that the hottest time here is between December and May. The cooler rainy season starts in May. Right now it is 84 and a bit humid.
The weather here goes from tropical humid to Sahara dry in the course of a year which wreaks havoc on doors, countertops, cabinets etc. Add to that some termites and wood becomes a poor choice of building materials." Ted Weinberg

They previously finished a hospital in southern Togo- which is in West Africa- and Ted told me that about 3 people come to Christ each and every day because of the work they are doing in the lives of the patients there. He also told me that his first love is to build churches. I told him "I don't know of any churches where 3 souls are brought into the Kingdom a day- just pretend like you're building a big church".

Please pray for those who are living out their faith in places away from their families, away from familiar corporate worship and away from the comforts we have all grown so accustom to. Pray for their health and that God would be glorified in and through them as they work to extend His Kingdom.

There are opportunities for short and long term missions along side of Ted and his team if you are interested. LMK and I will try to give you directions.
