What's the Point?

Heb. 10:35 Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.
For, "Yet a little while,
and the coming one will come and will not delay;
but my righteous one shall live by faith,
and if he shrinks back,
my soul has no pleasure in him."
But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.

If at the end of our lives our reward is Heaven, and Him, and all that this life has to offer is striving after the wind, with no real results, then why not just bring us Home right now, since He rejoices with the death of one of His children?

I often think of what Paul must have gone through, in prison, stocks, ship wrecks, beatings and hunger, yet he still pressed on to finish the race to attain the prize. Did he beg God at times to take him Home and end the heartache of watching people rebel against God? God obviously used him in a mighty way to spread His Word to the lost.

Truly, as Micah said, it is about the people around us, especially right now. I am often shamefully reminded that I don't take EVERY opportunity to give Him praise for what He is doing, but He is faithful to give me more opportunities.

We are to be salt and light to those around us, and there are many who are lost and alone, without hope. We must continue to spread His light to the world. Don't look at the vanity of life, but the privilege that we have to share Christ with a dieing world. Go make disciples.
