Well the day dawned rainy and we were wondering how deep the water would be that God would lead us through. I was reminded that God doesn't give us anything we can't handle and we were trusting that He would keep His promise, as He always does.
As you have seen through the previous post, He is more than faithful.
Grant has just had his breathing tube removed, as he is fine breathing w/o it. He is able to look at the person speaking and blinks his eyes when you ask him to.
As you will see in the picture of before and after he is doing much better just in the amount of hardware on him. He is intentionally giving you all a thumbs up even though it doesn't look like much, it is intentional. God is good.
I just wanted to keep you up to date and I'll get you more later. This day is more than we could ever ask or think.
By the way, I can do a marathon if someone carries me.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Celebrating the Resurrection,
Chuck

Weinberg Family,
We are all holding you up in prayer. It is so GREAT to see how GOOD our God is!! Thank you for the updates on Grant. If you can think of anything you need, please do not hesitate to ask.
With our love and prayers,
The Hall family
Wonderful Weinberg family,
I talked to Grant at Grace Academy on Friday when he, as usual, was spending his time in service to others. I told him how happy I was to see him looking so healthy; based on that conversation,I never could have anticipated this!
I first heard the details of his condition when Pastor Zimmer shared them with us this morning from the pulpit--I love you all, and am praying for and with you all.
Chuck, your genuine love for Grant, Garret, and Kimmy has always been an encouragement to me; and now, as I read your updates on Grant's condition, I can't help but praise God with you for His goodness in orchestrating circumstances in such a miraculous way through this difficult time.
Sound His praise,
Sherry
C/T/K/G/G,
How good is God? There really aren't words to fully describe how good His is! To see Him work in your lives is definitely a testament to His goodness though.
It was amazing being at the hospital with you today. Even in the midst of this trial you are reaching out to others there on the 4th floor.
On our knees,
R/J/A/A/I Van Derbeken
Weinbergs,
Psalm 125:1-2 - "Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people both now and forevermore."
I pray earnestly that our Lord and Savior will surround you with all love and peace. He is so AMAZING!! As I read the posts, I sat in awe of our Amazing God! Knowing from a medical standpoint what Grant is going through, it is nothing short of the goodness and faithfulness of God that Grant is still here.
No matter where we are, God hears our prayers, even all the way in the middle of no where Ohio. My prayers are with your family and for a swift, uneventful recovery for Grant. Keep relying on God!!! He is SO FAITHFUL!!!
To Him be all glory and honor forever,
Christie
Chuck, Teresa & family,
As are the rest of your friends and family, the Van Vlecks in Boise, Idaho are praying for all of you.
We'll be keeping an eye on the blog to monitor Grant's progress. Thank you for letting us know how we can be praying for you.
It's really amazing how Grant looks like a 17 year old kid who used to play the bass fiddle in our bluegrass band!
God bless,
Dave Van Vleck
JJ and I stopped and prayed as soon as we heard on Saturday morning. I am amazed at how deep and wide the love of Jesus has been made evident through you in this time of trial. May His joy, peace and love undergird and sustain you all abundantly, and the truth of His faithfulness shine steadfastly to hearts ready for His truth because of the evidence seen in your lives. God really is good all the time, we just need to see with His eyes. It's all true grace.
Prayerfully,
Troy, Cheryl & JJ Howard
Mr. Weinberg (and family),
I am Amanda Hoeglund's boyfriend, and also a friend of their family. Though I'm not sure I've met Grant officially (maybe once if I have), I knew who he was and saw him at the Good Friday service. Amanda told me about what happened to him earlier this weekend and asked me to pray. I have been praying all weekend for him. She told me about this blog today and I just finished reading through it. I finished it with tears in my eyes. This must be such a hard experience to go through, though such an amazing way to see God work!
Your blogs show a heart that is relying on a God who it knows is in control, and that really touched me. I think these blogs are the most beautiful thing I've ever read, and such an encouragement - not only to see God work, but to see your reliance on God. I know you don't know me and may never meet me till heaven, but know that Grant and your family will be in my prayers!! Thank you for starting this blog, not only can I keep updated and know how to pray, but it has really encouraged me in my walk with Christ.
This comment is long and so I will end. In our weakness Christ is made strong, and I see Him radiating from you and this whole situation - both a testimony to our God. Stay strong in the Lord, I am praying for you all!
In the love of Christ,
Grant
PS. My name is also Grant. :)
Is it possible to be jealous of a person if you situation? Before October 6th of last year I would have thought no. However, not yet 6 months ago, my younger sister lay in acoma torn apart by a near-fatal car accident. I know. Who wants to hear about someone else when you're going through your own trial? I'm writing to encourage you that God is so gracious for you to be seeing such a recovery so quickly! We had to wait weeks before my sister was consistently responsive. I am praising the Lord alongside you all as you witness His resurrecting power in a physical way amidst your own family.
Please know that I'm praying for you, your family, and of course, Grant.
May God continue to show and glorify Himself powerfully before your family, the doctors and nurses, and the others looking on. May this grow you in a way only this situation can for the glory and service of the Lord!
Press on!
Sincerely,
Ashley Bricks

P.S. One of the greatest times of joy for us was when my sister finally did start communicating. Seeing Grant give a thumbs-up made me so happy!!! Buy a dry erase board and marker. He may be able to communicate through that. My sister did for a long time while she had to relearn to talk. He may also enjoy listening to some of his music (if the doctor's allow it, of course) or hearing his favorite book read out loud. We did both for my sister. God bless!!
