Rejoice, Reflect, Relax

Ps. 119:89 Forever, O LORD, your word
is firmly fixed in the heavens.
90 Your faithfulness endures to all generations;
you have established the earth, and it stands fast.
91 By your appointment they stand this day,
for all things are your servants.

The sovereignty of God is displayed in these 3 verses. When all things around us are falling apart; when every where you turn there is change; when people say one thing and do another, remember that God's Word and plan are established, and have BEEN established and will never change.

How can we be worried about the little things in this life when God never changes and He keeps every one of His promises? There is no room, no need and no gain in worry, when God is in control. As Jesus said to the disciples, "Why are you afraid?" It was beyond His thinking to be afraid, because He knew the Father was in control and He knows the Father is good to His children.

I love the last part of 90, "all things are Your servants". ALL things. The grass in the field is His servant. The bug moving past you on the sidewalk is His servant. The wind, the sun, the snow and rain; everything is His servant and listens and obeys His command. If all of creation is servant to the Great King, why would we want to try to challenge His leadership in our lives? And why would we think that He has left us to fend for ourselves when He commands everything in the universe?

Rejoice, reflect and relax in His sovereign care today. Encourage others by the great things you have seen Him do.

The "New" 3 Rs: Rejoice-Reflect-Relax. Loved it. Needed it. Thanking God for it this sunny Monday.
