John 4:39 Many Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, "He told me all that I ever did." 40 So when the Samaritans came to him, they asked him to stay with them, and he stayed there two days. 41 And many more believed because of his word. 42 They said to the woman, "It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world."
Never underestimate to powerful testimony of a changed life. This Samaritan woman's life was changed by one short conversation with the living, incarnate God and she was not going to stop talking about that change.
I hope that we hear our own testimony coming out of our mouths so frequently that we might think that we have to drum up a newer, fresher version. But if you are saved, your testimony is what God has called you to share with others. We know where we came from and what He has taken us out of. We need to share that with others.
Out of 5m words written by Augustine, his "Confessions" is the most remembered. Why is it that God wants to take the testimony of a transformed life and use it for His glory? No one but God can bring about a change like this. No one but God can take someone who is dead and bring them to life. No one but God can change a heart from lusting after the world and all it has to offer and make it a "Kingdom Seeker".
The crowd of Samaritans came because of this lady's testimony about Jesus, but then Jesus made it personal for them, as He shared with each one of them about Himself. Jesus is a personal God, doing personal work in the hearts of the lost. GO! Share your personal testimony and pray that God will use the change He has made in your life to plant, water or harvest.
You don't have to be a Bible professor, or seminary grad to share what God has done in your life, in fact it is probably better that most of us are not. Think about all the different people you meet everyday, that your pastor doesn't even know. Share what God is doing in your life at this very moment. People are hurting. They need the Great Physician.
