Whatever - Wherever

If Jim Elliot were here today he would still say that this is true. For Jim Elliot, being martyred for the name of Christ was the highest calling; his life's greatest work.

We are not all called to be martyred for Christ, but we are called to be willing to give up our lives, if that is where God leads. Too often we think that this calling is for someone else. What if that calling is for your kids? You may be willing to give up your own life, but are you willing to give up your kid's lives in service to the Lord?

The greatest gift that God can give us is a heart that is sold out to Him. He gives it; He sustains it; and He provides for it. It is only ours to give back.

As our 2 boys are in Europe these next 2 weeks, it is a little quiet around the house; visions of things to come very shortly. What higher calling can a father have than for The Father to have given his children hearts sold out for Him?

My desire for my kids would be that they would delight themselves in the Lord, follow His Word and leave the rest up to Him. Whatever and wherever that may be.
